1. Naming Conventions

Current System

Icons follow the naming conventions of the Remix Icon library.

Examples:

• edit-line
• chat-line
• map-pin-line
• user-line
• arrow-right-line

This structure follows the pattern:

icon-name-line

Strengths:

• Naming is consistent.
• The system inherits a well maintained icon library.
• The names are predictable and implementation friendly.

The design system also includes a table that maps icons to Decidim product concepts through a description field. Examples include:

• chat-new-line → Proposal
• briefcase-2-line → Result / Project
• lightbulb-flash-line → Initiative

This mapping does not rename icons. It documents how icons are used in the product interface. This is useful for designers and does not conflict with the underlying library naming.
